REGISTRATION
The will be our 7th year of the Mandolin Symposium with Mike Marshall and David Grisman and once again we will be returning to the beautiful University of California campus in Santa Cruz, California. Registration costs are figured for most students including all housing costs in University Student Apartments. This Fee includes our opening party on Monday evening at 8PM, all classes, concerts and evening events hosted by us. Housing Costs are separate from Symposium Fees. There are a limited number of Commuter spots available for a reduced fee so please check our Registration page.

HOUSING
Symposium Housing is in the University of Santa Cruz student apartments. These apartments are multiple bedrooms apartments with a living room and kitchen. However, the stoves are disabled during the summer months. There is enough housing at the campus for most of us to each have our own bedrooms in shared apartments (Single Occupancy). When the singles are full, we will still have double occupancy available. Click here for other accommodation options.

If you are attending the Symposium with another student that is a friend and you want to share a bedroom within an apartment with them, we will offer you a special double occupancy housing rate of $645 each person. Please indicate on your Registration Form that you will be sharing a Bedroom along with your roommates’ name. The Symposium will not be assigning roommates for you. You will have a single room unless you register with a roommate. You and your roommate will need to be registered and your total Registration paid prior to June 1st, 2010 otherwise your balance due will be the $500 and you will be assigned Single Occupancy Housing. All double housing is on an ‘as available’ basis.

COST

  • 2010 Mandolin Symposium Fees $ 460
  • Student Housing Costs (6 nights at UCSC single occupancy and all meals) $ 745
  • First meal dinner, Monday June 21 and depart on Sunday June 27, 2010
  • Total 2010 Mandolin Symposium and housing costs $ 1205
  • A Deposit of $705 (which includes a $50 non refundable Application Fee) is required with registration. Your deposit may be refunded, less the application fee, prior to May 1, 2010. Balance of $500 is due by May 1, 2010. We will continue to accept Registration after that date until classes are full.

    OFF CAMPUS RATES
    There are a limited number of discounted rates for those that will be staying off campus. This year's Off Campus rate is $700 which includes lunches only and all other group activities, including any evening socials or concerts that we will be hosting during the week.

    CHAPERONE
    All students under the age of 18 years of age staying On Campus need to be accompanied by a Chaperone per UCSC rules. You must register your chaperone at the same time as you register. Sorry but there can be NO exceptions.

    FAMILY MEMBERS
    Only Chaperones or Immediate Family members (with permission) may accompany a student to the Mandolin Symposium. Students pay Symposium Registration and Housing costs, and Chaperone or Family members will pay the Chaperone or Family members Housing rates only. (Class space is limited and only registered students may attend class.) Housing costs will be based upon occupancy requests.     Sorry, we cannot accept credit cards. We do use Pay-Pal. You can send your PayPal deposit in to Ruffo@MandoCamp.com. There are fees associated with using PayPal and those fees should be added to your payment (about $28 for the $705 deposit). We would suggest mailing a check to us to avoid these fees, but if you need to use PayPal, you can check with us prior to May 1 to find out your balance due.
