Get Your Nose Outta My Bizness

As the leading blues mandolinist on the scene today, Rich DelGrosso performs at clubs and festivals world-wide. His recordings have garnered him five Blues Music Award nominations. Blues historian Mark Hoffman calls him "the greatest living blues mandoman." Rich has published articles for Blues Revue, Living Blues, Mandolin Magazine, Frets and Sing Out! and written mandolin instruction books for Hal Leonard. DelGrosso’s many mandolin workshops have earned him a Keeping the Blues Alive Award from the Memphis Blues Foundation.

At the Symposium Rich digs into his expansive repertoire to present the music of Chicago blues legends Johnny Young and Yank Rachell, the Dallas String Band, as well as dance tunes and classic repertoire from the early black string bands. Rich covers all aspects of the blues, from slide playing to adapting guitar rags for mandolin. The blues is a feeling — perhaps that's why Rich's blues jam sessions at the Symposium have been so popular every year.
