Getting to the University of California Santa Cruz campus from the airport
There is an Airport Shuttle Service that goes to both San Francisco and San Jose Airports. Please check around and share what you might know about shuttles on our message board. We used The SantaCruzairporter in the past. Please call them at 831-421-9883 for reservations. They charge $60 for up to 3 people from San Jose to Santa Cruz. The cost from San Francisco is $110 for up to 3 people. You will be going to the UCSC Campus, Crown-Merrill College. They may only take you downtown to the Bus stop and if that is the case and you are unable to get a bus (they run every 20mins I believe), make arrangements with us to help get you to campus.

From San Francisco Airport
Go North from San Francisco Airport onto US-101 N toward San Francisco. (1.4 miles) Stay in the Right Lane and then Merge onto I-380 W toward I-280 / San Bruno. Merge onto I-280 S towards San Jose. (30.0 miles) Merge onto CA-85 S toward Gilroy. (7.6 miles) Merge onto CA-17 S toward Santa Cruz.

From San Jose Airport
As you leave the Airport, you want find Hyway 17 to Santa Cruz. You will be leaving the airport to Coleman Avenue which will take you onto Hyway 17, about 30 miles thru the mountains to Santa Cruz.

Driving In
From Southern and Central California
Take Route 101 north to Route 156 west to Route 1 north. Then follow Route 1 north to Santa Cruz.

From Northern California
Take Route 5 south to Route 80 west to Route 680 south to Route 280 north. Then take Highway 17 south to Route 1 north to Santa Cruz.

IMPORTANT!   Housing is at Crown and Merrill Colleges. Classes are at Stevenson College

To the USCS Campus - Crown and Merrill Colleges (Housing Check In)

• As you come into Santa Cruz on Highway 17, it will direct you towards the Beach or Hyway 1 North and stay on Hyway 1. The freeway will end at a signal and you just keep going (about 1/4 mile) and at the 2nd signal it will sweep RIGHT (both right hand lanes) onto MISSION STREET. You are now on a 4 lane road with houses and stores on both sides.
• About 1 mile or so, you come to Bay Street (sign University of Santa Cruz) and turn RIGHT onto BAY STREET.
• Follow Bay Street about 2 miles to the Campus main entrance. You will come to a signal at the main Entrance and this is HIGH Street.
• You want to GO STRAIGHT past the old barn on COOLIDGE DRIVE and follow it through to the MAIN ENTRANCE. You are headed for CROWN COLLEGE. Returning students- this is a NEW LOCATION.
• Stay on COOLIDGE DRIVE for about 1 mile and it makes a big LEFT hand turn and the road will turn into McLAUGHLIN DRIVE.
• Once you pass the Stevenson campus, you’ll pass Merrill College on your right and then come to the first right, which is Chinquaph Rd.
• Turn RIGHT at CHINQUAPH RD.. The CROWN MERRILL apartments are at the top of the road on your RIGHT.

To the USCS Campus - Stevenson College
